8 Cake Pans You Need to Have in Your Kitchen
#1. Springform Pan
A Springform Pan is an ideal choice for baking cakes because it allows air to circulate freely while baking. This makes it easy to remove the cake from the oven without having to use a knife. It also helps prevent the cake from sticking to the sides of the pan.
Spring Form Pans are an essential piece of equipment for the baker at home. These types of cake pan first became popular during the 1950’s because they were viewed as more convenient than traditional layer pans. They also happen to be perfect for making all types of cheesecakes.
#2. Round Cake Pan–9″
If you’re looking for a round cake pan, then you should consider getting one with a diameter of 9-inches. This size will allow you to bake a 2-layer cake or a 3-layer cake.
My #1 baking pan I prefer to use is the basic 9-inch round cake pan. Everyone needs a round cake pan. Baking cakes in a round cake pan is so much easier than in a square, rectangular, or other shaped pan.
The most common size for this type of pan is 9-inches in diameter. However, there is a size for everybody.
A larger, 14-inch round cake pan is an excellent choice for a standard layered birthday cake, and smaller 6-inch round pans are great for cupcakes and mini-cakes.
Remember that round cake pans are not just for making cakes. They also work well with other baked desserts like cheesecakes and other desserts.
#3. Tube Bundt Pan–10″
This Bundt pan is perfect for making large cakes in a tube shape. It has an inner diameter of 9 1/2 inches and an outer diameter of 13 3/4 inches.
This pan is great for making Pound Cakes and regular cakes if you just want one thick layer. They come in beautiful designs so you can create a spectacular cake for your events or just for fun.
#4. Square Cake Pan–12″
This Square Cake Pan is ideal for making sheet cakes, mini cakes, and other small cakes. It has an inner dimension of 12 x 12 inches and an outer dimension of 14 x 14 inches.
You always see round cakes, so occasionally I like to make square ones. They are a little harder to frost, but not that bad. I have 8-inch, 9.5 x 5-inch (this one is a loaf pan), and 9 x 13-inch.
#5. Angel Food Cake Pan
Bakes a classic Angel Food Cake with ease. It is a standard 10-inch pan. I have one of these that I love and bake my pound cakes in it. Turns out beautiful every time.
#6. Loaf Pan–9.5 X 5-Inch
The Loaf Pan is ideal for baking bread, pound cake, meatloaf, and more. It measures 9.5 x 5-inches. I love to bake banana nut bread in mine, and they are also ideal for making birthday cakes like a fire truck.
#7 Cookie Sheet Pan
The Cookie Sheet Pan is ideal for baking cookies, baking, roasting & toasting. I usually like to have 3 sizes of these pans for my baking needs.
The size of the size of these pans I have are:
- S (L x W x H): 13.38″ × 8.66’’ × 0.59″-inches,
- M (L x W x H): 15.1” × 10.03’’ × 0.59” -inches,
- L (L x W x H): 17.1” x 11.8” x 0.67” -inches
#8. Muffin Pan
The Muffin Pan is ideal for baking muffins, cupcakes, cornbread, or whatever your imagination can produce.
I have 2 of these on hand because I never know when I might need to double my recipe! But did you know you can buy a 24-cup muffin pan now?
